Just a bad design on the 365, Ayoob's review of the 365 talked about this and he suggested using the left hand or moving the release to the left side.

I train with all three 2-3 times a month and shoot collectively over 400 9mm rounds a month through them. As with any firearm, I clean each one after every shooting session.

If a hundred owners have an issue and go to the internet and complain it seems like a mountain of problems when in truth its statistically a tiny blip. 99% or higher are trouble free. The Sig Sauer P365 is a semi-automatic striker-fired pistol that is similar in some ways to the larger P320 series. It’s a different gun and parts aren’t compatible with the Sig P320, but the influence is plain to see. Like the P320, the Sig P365 has a takedown lever to separate the slide and frame without pulling the trigger.

Nov 29, 2023 · I tried the same experiment with the 9mm P365 XL (that’s the long slide version). It cycled just fine, using everyday 147-grain range ammo. I have also tried it with the Beretta 80X Cheetah using the same PMC ammo I had in the .380 Sig. Again, no problems. That wasn’t really a surprise.

Overall, the P365 ran great. I can't believe how soft it shoots. I did have some mag problems. I had some failures to feed with the Winchester Train 147gr fmj. The round stuck in the mag and did not reach the feed ramp. A single pull on the slide made the round feed normally.
